Sweat Lodge is a purification ceremony. Preparations for the Sweat Lodge are conducted in a sacred manner by cleaning and caring for the grounds, building and tending the fire, and covering the lodge.

The Lakota term "Inipi" is what this ritual was called in their tradition. It means to 'to live again'. Inipi is a purification rite and is necessary in order to help the vision quest seeker enter into a state of humility and to undergo a kind of spiritual rebirth. The sweat lodge is central to Inipi.

During the ceremony, heated stones are placed in the center of the lodge (Inipi) while the Sweat Lodge leader guides participants in prayer or song. The Sweat Lodge leader teaches about the lodge, ancestral traditions, and how to tap into spirit for healing. The Sweat Lodge, representing the womb of Mother Earth, is a sacred place to ask for healing, forgiveness, hope, vision, to give thanks, or anything else participants need during their journey of change. The community also prepares are this journey by doing many things together before and on the day of the lodge.

We will all be:

• Before the event--

Donating needed supplies for the lodge
Fasting Together (if medically possible)
Cleaning and Preparing the space

• Building the lodge
• Sweating
• Cleaning & Preserving the area for future sweat lodge ceremonies

You get what you give with this experience, so if you need major shifts, apply the dedication to the process to receive it...simple as that!

This event is free, but donations will be accepted. We understand that all can't be involved in what was listed above due to their own personal commitments and schedules, so we are extending an opportunity to you to lend your energy through financial support. This makes the collection of supplies and other needs more easily attainable.
