Join us for our montly New Moonifestation Goddess Gatherings!
Each month, our community gathers -- in person and/or online -- to connect, learn and celebrate ourselves and each other. We are an intimate space specifically for and by Black women to discuss and share our experiences.
New moon gatherings started in-person in the Nashville area. Since March 2020, gatherings have moved online. As safety guidelines allow, we hope to meet in-person again soon, while continuing to offer an opportunity for Goddesses in other areas to join virtually.
The Zoom meeting link will be sent prior to the event to folks who have registered in advance. Registration closes 1 hour before the event starts.
THIS MONTH: We will deepen our understanding of complimentary energies through the lives of the Orisa, with Iya Olu. We'll do some light yoga with Goddess Demia Espinal, focusing on the throat and heart chakras. And we'll wrap it up with a session of money pouring!
Iyanifa Oluwole-Shirdell Mattox is CEO of Women of Color and Spirit, a non-profit organization dedicated to spiritual and somatic education that helps deepen and expand wellness throughout African diasporic communities. Iya Olu is a broadly trained community leader and has been an advocate for the expression of traditional spiritual and healing practices for many years in underrepresented and underserved communities throughout the United States.

What can you expect at a New Moonifestation Goddess Gathering?
Each gathering centers on a specific theme to support the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of Black women. We often feature one or more guest speakers. We encourage active participation and discussion -- this is for you! Finally, our gatherings typically end with money pouring! This is a ritual to call abundance into our lives, as described in the book Jambalaya by Yeye Luisah Teish (find it at a local bookseller).
Why do we we meet at the new moon?
The new moon -- when the moon does not reflect the light of the sun and is not visible to the naked eye -- has traditionally represented a time of new beginnings. We meet in the days just before or just after the new moon to express our intent to manifest positive new things in our lives.
