August New Moonifestation

Join us for our monthly New Moonifestation Goddess Gatherings!

AUGUST NEW MOON: Movie Night!

WOMEN & BIPOC ONLY

DONATION: $10 for non Patreon Members (in person)

During this month's New Moonifestation Goddess Gathering we will bring the Literary work of the GREAT Alice Walker to the Calabash! The essay “In Search of Our Mother’s Gardens” by contemporary American novelist Alice Walker was in inspiration for the Netflix documentary "In Our Mothers Gardens."

We share scenes and insights from the essay and film. Passing down our traditions, rituals, and recipes is how we preserve who we are as a people. Our discussion will have a matrifocal perspective, and honor our ancestors that brought us into being.

We will also have a healing meditation/sound bath and refreshments! Bring your daughters, nieces, and sisters! We will honor our Mothers, Ancestral Mothers, and those who have come before.

Location address and the zoom link to gain access to the live will be sent out 24 hours before the event via email.

Each month, our community gathers -- in person and/or online -- to connect, learn and celebrate ourselves and each other. We are an intimate space specifically for and by Black women to discuss and share our experiences.

New moon gatherings started in-person in the Nashville area. Since March 2020, gatherings have moved online. As safety guidelines allow, we hope to meet in-person again soon, while continuing to offer an opportunity for Goddesses in other areas to join virtually.

For links to register, visit us on FACEBOOKor INSTAGRAM. AGOG members can also find information on our PATREON and GROUPME pages.

What can you expect at a New Moonifestation Goddess Gathering?

Each gathering centers on a specific theme to support the mental, physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being of Black women. We often feature one or more guest speakers. We encourage active participation and discussion -- this is for you! Finally, our gatherings typically end with money pouring! This is a ritual to call abundance into our lives, as described in the book Jambalaya by Yeye Luisah Teish (find it at a local bookseller).

Why do we we meet at the new moon?

The new moon -- when the moon does not reflect the light of the sun and is not visible to the naked eye -- has traditionally represented a time of new beginnings. We meet in the days just before or just after the new moon to express our intent to manifest positive new things in our lives.
